Paul Minott (b. Birmingham,1960) graduated with first class honours in Graphic Design from Canterbury College of Art in 1982, and received his Masters degree from Central School of Art and Design the following year. Minott worked as a graphic designer for several London consultancies including Conran and Addison, before establishing a partnership in 1989. This had an international client base in several sectors including new product development, retail, finance, media and sport. Minott left London in 2004, and began teaching Graphic Communication at Bath Spa University, whilst continuing his own commercial practice. Over two decades, the teaching expanded to include running a Masters course in Brand Development, and lecturing in Critical Studies and History of Art, whilst exploring personal research topics as diverse as D-Day, Hitchcock, Godard and Duchamp.

Minott began printmaking in 2015, and has developed a unique approach to monoprinting combining digital design with handmade production. Trading as 'Lost Modern' his work deliberately eschews narrative and considers hard-edge abstract modernism as an unfinished project of optimism and potential. No longer teaching, Minott now conceives and makes one print every day from his studio near Bath. His work is in several private collections across the world, and he frequently takes on commissions for domestic and commercial environments.
